“If you can be self-aware, that’s the best gift in the world.”
On this episode of the Pow Wow Pitch Podcast, we’re joined by Donavan Robinson, Founder of Pop CoLab. Donavan shares his journey from graphic designer to business builder, centred on strategic play and workplace transformation. He reflects on how a late ADHD diagnosis reshaped his understanding of productivity and why people thrive when they’re supported by the right environment. Drawing on play research and lived experience, Donavan explains how embracing neurodiversity, psychological safety, and different play styles can unlock creativity, trust, and collaboration. At its core, this conversation invites leaders to rethink rigid work cultures and learn how to play together better.

Donavan Robinson Feature Welcome back to Aligned Ambition, the podcast where Alignment Guide and Connector Kate Hanson explores what it truly means to pursue meaningful goals while staying rooted in who you are. Each episode invites honest conversations about ambition, alignment, and the inner work required to build a life and career that actually feels good.
In today’s episode, Kate is joined by Donavan Robinson, a Red River Métis entrepreneur, ADHD advocate, and co-founder of PopCoLab. Donavan’s work centres on helping organizations and communities strengthen creativity, connection, and culture through play-based, purpose-driven experiences. Donavan shares his entrepreneurial journey across multiple industries and how discovering his ADHD helped him better understand how he works, leads, and creates.
Together, Kate and Donavan explore why play is not something we grow out of, but something that keeps us present, innovative, and connected in both life and business. This conversation dives into the realities of building something meaningful without burning yourself out. They discuss ambition guided by curiosity rather than pressure, the importance of environment and community, and how play can support mental health, leadership, and authentic connection. Donavan also reflects on balancing responsibility with joy, staying grounded through uncertainty, and redefining success in a way that honours both purpose and well-being.
✨ This episode is an invitation to rethink what success looks like, to release the belief that ambition has to feel heavy, and to reconnect with the parts of yourself that thrive through curiosity, creativity, and play. Tailored Experiences
Real outcomes. Not just a fun afternoon.
Our experiences are designed around what your team actually needs — whether that's rebuilding trust after a rough quarter, getting a cross-functional group aligned, or simply reminding people why they like working together. We use play as a tool, not a distraction.
Every session includes a pre-booking conversation so we understand your team, your goals, and what success looks like for you.
Ideation & Creativity Workshop

For our team there was the genius of moving back and forth between work-based concerns and goals to just plain fun, and I saw the result of that technique come out in the final brainstorm that produced some really great things for our team projects.

Had an amazing time with PopColab for a after holiday team event. A large group of 15 people is hard to plan for, so it was great there were so many activity options. We ended up doing a custom trivia to get to know our team members personally and mug making workshop where everyone got to design their own! We also had a mocktail bar (ft. sobr market) available and a treats table. Drinks were delicious and our team had a fun time! Excited to collab with them for another team event.

Our company booked the Guess Who game and collaborative mug activity for our holiday party and it was a great hit among the staff. The team at Pop Colab were great to work with too. I would recommend this for any type of group activity, whether family events, friend outings, or company team building.

We booked PopCoLab for our work holiday party this year and it was a fantastic experience. Donavan was incredibly helpful and accommodating in every way, including suggested mocktails and getting products from Sobr Market. I highly recommend this for an easy, worry-free staff party or other event!
