Adults Play, Plain and Simple.

Adults already play; we don’t always call it “play.” You don’t need fancy gear. You need permission, options, and a safe environment. I recently attended a workshop, and the question was, "What brought you joy in 2025?" After hearing everyone go around the room and answer this question, one common theme emerged: they were playing, finding their play nature, and their play personalities were evident.
"I found joy in bringing people together." That’s classic Director energy. The host. The connector. The one who loves watching people click.
"Experiencing nature, the outdoors." That often shows up as Explorer (movement, adventure, discovery) or Collector (noticing, gathering, appreciating the little details).
And for me, one of the most joyful moments this past year has been watching my kids find joy. Laughing uncontrollably. The curiosity. The discovery. The Storyteller loves witnessing people’s moments and meaning.
That’s a reminder that play isn’t something we outgrow. We get busier, more guarded, and less likely to give ourselves permission.
Take a few minutes to reflect on what gave you pure joy this past year and rediscover the Power of Play. And thanks, Joey Crampton CPA, PCC, for the excellent workshop today, for helping me pause and reflect so I can move forward and achieve some BIG goals for 2026!
Where did you find joy this past year? Comment below.
