About Pop CoLab

We use play as a strategy for better teams.

Pop CoLab is a Winnipeg-based strategic play lab designing playful experiences, strategic workshops, team challenges, learning labs, keynotes, and partner-led programming for corporate teams, private groups, and curious humans. We create experiences that feel fun in the moment, but are built with real purpose underneath: to help people build trust, connect faster, think differently, and work better together.

Our work is playful on purpose.

Playful Approach, Serious Results

That means every experience is designed around an outcome, not just an activity. Some teams need light, social moments that boost morale. Some need better communication, stronger collaboration, or a reset in how they work together. Others need deeper development work around leadership, trust, onboarding, or change. That’s why Pop CoLab currently frames its work across Team Bonding, Team Building, and Team Development and tailors each experience to the people, pace, and goals in the room.

Play With Purpose

Play isn’t the opposite of serious work.

At Pop CoLab, we don’t treat play like fluff, filler, or a reward you earn after the “real work” is done. We use play as a practical strategy to unlock the things strong teams actually need most: trust, psychological safety, curiosity, self-awareness, communication, and momentum. In your keynote framework, play helps people lower their guard, build empathy, feel more comfortable around each other, and move toward trust faster. It also creates the conditions people need to participate more fully, especially when they feel safe, seen, and able to show up as themselves.

How we use play as strategy

Trust
Trust is the foundation.

Play helps people connect faster by lowering pressure, inviting curiosity, and creating shared moments that feel human. When trust grows, teams are more willing to engage, contribute, and collaborate.

Environment
For people to truly engage, they need the right environment.

We design experiences that are welcoming, low-judgment, and open to curiosity, while still making room for healthy conflict, reflection, and real conversation. We know not everyone enters a room the same way, so our approach is never one-size-fits-all.

Self-Awareness
Knowing how we play can help us play with others.

Before people can play together well, they need to understand how they think, react, communicate, and what energizes them. That’s why self-awareness is a big part of our work. We use tools, reflection, and playful frameworks to help teams better understand themselves and each other.

Autonomy
Strong teams also need space for agency.

We design experiences that let people participate in different ways, contribute from their strengths, and find their own entry point. That flexibility helps more people engage meaningfully, not just the loudest or quickest in the room.

Why Pop CoLab

We know not every team connects the same way. Some people learn by doing. Some through conversation. Some through creativity, humour, movement, or challenge.

Our approach makes space for different personalities, different energy levels, and different ways of engaging — so more people can actually take part.

More than a team event

Pop CoLab exists to help people connect in more human ways.

We create experiences that feel playful in the moment, but are grounded in strategy, intention, and real team outcomes.
